2017-04-29&30 FONT CREATED AND COMMENTED AT FONTSTRUCT.COM… 2017-05-04 I DELETE MY 'CREATIVE COMMONS ATTRIBUTION' FONT… (FontStruct.com destroyed the following text irremediably!) __________________________________________________________ Odyssey² character set extended to basic Ascii with new "0" (except for "0", you get a faithful remake, quite unique…).   SUMMARY ☛ Aims: Ascii (extended to be 7 bits); for the retro coders + Edit: 26 LC & 23 'symbols' added; 1 digit ("0" ≠ "O")[*1] = Same: 26 UC; 9 'symbols'[*2]; 18 beyond basic Ascii [*3]. Preserved: matrix (8x7); spacing (fixed w.); boldness…[*4]. Completed: in 2015 {somebody had to update this short set}.   [DETAILS] *1   This alternate font was thought to be duplicate-safe, so:   • "0" had to be altered (and "O" was left as is, cf. "Q")   • Many characters needed a further edition (see point 4).   The "0" dupe was a flaw in 1978. You may not put it back!   (B.t.w. a whole redesign would produce many ambiguities.)   If you really need another solution to "0" and "O" dupes:   ▄█▀▀▀█▄  ▄█▀▀█▄  ▄█▀▀█▄° ▄█▀▀█▄ °: coherent with chr "10"   ██ ▄ ██ ██   ██  ██  ██  ██▄███  (unlike my slanted "0").   ██   ██ ██  ▄█▀  ██  ██  ██▀ ██     ▀▀▀▀▀   ▀▀▀▀     ▀▀▀▀    ▀▀▀▀ _   ▄█▀▀▀█▄ ▄██▀▀█▄  ▄█▀██▄  ▄█▀█▄  |   ██   ██ ██   ██ ██   ██ ██   ██ |   ██   ██ ██  ▄██ ██▄ ▄█▀ ▀█▄ ▄█▀ |    ▀▀▀▀▀   ▀▀▀▀▀   ▀▀▀▀     ▀▀▀    \ Remember to modify "Q"   ▄█▀▀▀█▄ ▄██▀▀█▄  ▄█▀██▄  ▄█▀█▄   / according to your "O".   ██   ██ ██   ██ ██   ██ ██   ██ |   ██ ▀██▀ ██ ▀██▀ ██▄▀██▀ ▀█▄▀██▀ |    ▀▀▀ ▀▀  ▀▀▀ ▀▀  ▀▀▀ ▀▀   ▀▀ ▀▀_| *2   Pertaining to basic Ascii only:   Before: ("Space" and) :$?+.-=/\   Lacked: !"#%&'()*,;<>@[]^_`{|}~ *3   {OBSOLETE on/}   My Unicode mapping of the characters beyond basic Ascii:   » (U+000AB) "Left-Pointing Double Angle Quotation Mark"               <⚠ Man Walking To Right expected, inP2R!>   « (U+000BB) "Right-Pointing Double Angle Quotation Mark"               <⚠ Man Walking To Left expected, inP2L!>   × (U+000D7) "Multiplication Sign"   ÷ (U+000F7) "Division Sign"   › (U+02039) "Single Left-Pointing Angle Quotation Mark"               <⚠ Man Standing To Right expected, inP2R!>   ‹ (U+0203A) "Single Right-Pointing Angle Quotation Mark"               <⚠ Man Standing To Left expected, inP2L!>   → (U+02192) "Rightwards Arrow"   ⑩ (U+02469) "Circled Number Ten"   █ (U+02588) "Full Block"   ● (U+025CF) "Black Circle"   ◢ (U+025E2) "Black Lower Right Triangle"   ◣ (U+025E3) "Black Lower Left Triangle"   ⛵ (U+026F5) "Sailboat" <⚠ Torpedo Boat expected, inP2L!>   🌳 (U+1F333) "Deciduous Tree"   🕺 (U+1F57A) "Man Dancing" <⚠ 'Egyptian Dance' expected!>   🚢 (U+1F6A2) "Ship" <⚠ Aircraft Carrier expected, inP2R!>   🛩 (U+1F6E9) "Small Airplane"   🦈 (U+1F988) "Shark"   We get this approximate rendition from the original set:   [00-0F] 0123456789:$ ?LP (final)   [10-1F] +WERTUIOQSDFGHJK (final)   [20-2F] AZXCVBM.-×÷=YN/█ (final?)   [30-3F] ⑩●‹«»›→🌳◢◣🕺\🦈🛩⛵🚢 (temporary!) - PS it changed↵   {/OBSOLETE off}   Since the FontStructor s/w cannot still map beyond $ffff   (65'535 4-byte codepoints - I planned 5-byte 1'048'575…)   I cannot but place the extra characters (> 7 bits Ascii)   in the lower ranges of Unicode, where safely applicable.   Here is my last mapping (with asc. accuracy tolerances):   0.
