{PNG (& GIF) METADATA} • {Author:} dpla 2015-08-01 (original) + 2023-02-13 till -27 (derivations). • {Title:} Shiny, Speccy 'S' tribute logo. • {Comment:} Credit: 13-color (4-bpp) 48 × 39 pixels letter 'S' (somehow uppercase) from an Atari STF font (mainly lowercase) made by Jovis and showcased since early 1991 in the Lamers demo of Zuul, derived as a mirrored 'Z' in a further logo for Zuul, ported to the ZX Spectrum ('Speccy' initial) and its challenging color clash as a pixel art tribute (at first to the related 16/32-bit systems and their antialiasing abilities), compatible with the ZX81 ('Zeddy' virtual initial) / ZX80 / MK14… (yet without mirroring and retexting a.t.m.) as a 1-bpp 64 × 48 block-graphics picture with horizontal padding (and a 64 × 8 'SPECTRUM' footer title from the system font released by Sinclair Research Ltd in 1982, with its 16-pixel removal / aging / stencil edition by dpla). The forced circular outlines were likely inspired by the Ocean Software Ltd logo (blue 'ocean' from the original Ocean trademark) in 1983 by an uncredited illustrator (with enhanced reflections and sparks adapted to a black background by dpla b.t.w.), which rounded uppercase design looked like e.g. the American Broadcasting Company logo ('abc' titled 'ABC circle') by Paul Rand in 1962. [Besides, where applicable:] Credit to the original 'fragmented zoom' or 'offset pixels in ×2 magnifications' (free demos with opaque colors related to catadioptric lens and bokeh, even to dithered 1-bit textures) designed and showcased on Atari ST by Jovis of Zuul in c.a. 1992. • {Description:} Edited sample from the 'ZX Word mock-up' by dpla 2015-08-01 (original) and 2023-02-13&22to27 (various editions, color derivations and further animations). Big letter cloned (into 2 bpp, next RGBI by hand) from the metallic font (then golden or chrome) credited below. Before / after: we lost the smooth antialias and some depth; we preserved most gradients and reflections; we gained the blended, vivid colors in the Speccy fashion.
