{PNG METADATA} • {Author:} dpla. • {Creation Time:} 2013-04-08, 2015-06-14, 2018-10-26till28, 2023-02-10&12. • {Title:} Fragmented ื2 magnifications featuring Lenna. • {Comment:} Credit to the original 'fragmented zoom' or 'offset pixels in ื2 magnifications' (free demos with opaque colors related to catadioptric lens and bokeh, even to dithered 1-bit textures) designed and showcased on Atari ST by Jovis of Zuul in c.a. 1992. • {Description:} Color-saving magnifications (/pros): no palette modification; drawback (/cons): a dithered pattern is very likely to appear (esp. in contrasted surfaces & edges). Column or (animated) frame n #1-#10: magnified at ื1-ื512, i.e. 2^(n-1). Rows (1st line excluded, i.e. n+1) or (animated) frame quadrants n #1-#4: offset pixels ืn, e.g. blurring #4 = 4-px 'subpixels' shifting (symmetrically and in the same way in all these examples, for the sake of the simplicity). • {Disclaimer:} These conversions may show too much noise at high magnification for a practical use, esp. with high offset values. The catadioptric lens or bokeh effect cannot go beyond a certain threshold, depending on the initial blurring: the dithered effect loops, even almost freezes afterwards (the magnification stops there). • {Software:} PaintNet (defocus etc.); IrfanView (panorama); PNGGauntlet (compression); TweakPNG (metadata). • {Source:} Lenna (test image, 50 years after): Lena S๖derberg: http://people.zoy.org/~sam/gimp-dithering-2.png (downsampling of the 'original' image as 256 ื 256 pixels likely by Samuel Hocevar, from the old sample available on Wikipedia.org as 512 ื 512 pixels). • {Copyright:} Playboy magazine 1972-11.
